Jobseekers Allowance/Employment & Support Allowance/Income Support Queries
For new claims :
Telephone 0800 055 6688, open 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday.
Existing claimants with specific queries or concerns can also call this number to obtain contact details for the office handling their claim ( you will need to give them your post code so they can pass you on to the right office).
Child Benefit/Tax Credits
The Tax Credits Helpline (0845 300 3900) is open 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
The Child Benefit Helpline (0845 302 1444) is open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm Saturday.
If you have benefit, debt or/money worries
You can contact either of these organisations who will provide you with a free and confidential advice service.
Money Advice Plus - Southern Housing Group has arranged for this organisation to provide free advice to residents . Their service is telephone based service and they will be able to do benefit checks, help with any debt or money management problems and give you advice on benefit changes. If you’re worried about the cost of phone calls they will ring you back .

Consumer Credit Counselling Service provide a telephone based service They also offer a range of other services including Debt Management Plans
