Alan has over 27 years of experience in the affordable housing sector, working with both public and private companies and running his own consultancy firm. Alan became chief executive in September 2018, having previously been for three years. Prior to joining the Group, Alan worked at Wandle Housing, initially joining as its Asset Investment Director before being appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer and overseeing the operational and strategic side of the business. His other roles include seven years at Circle Group as Group Regional Operations Director.
Alan is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
Oliver Boundy: Group Development Director
Oliver Boundy has worked in the housing sector for 15 years. After joining the Group as New Business Director in 2016, Oliver established and led a highly successful New Business Team and was instrumental in increasing delivery of new homes through site acquisition, partnership working and a strong new business pipeline. Oliver took over as Group Development Director in September 2018.
Chris Harris: Customer Services Director
Chris started his career in the voluntary and local authority sectors, before moving to work for a number of g15 associations, most recently Genesis Housing Group and Catalyst Housing, where he became a specialist in customer experience and service transformation.
Throughout his career he has identified and initiated priorities and engaged cross-functional teams to enhance the customer experience and deliver bottom line efficiency.
Chris joined Southern Housing Group in 2015 as the Customer Services Director. As a member of the Group’s Strategy Team, Chris is responsible for setting the strategic direction of Customer Services. He manages a team that provides customer, property, and residential services, along with community, financial and employment and training support to a huge wide range of people. With a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service, he also ensures that the Group meets the digital needs of our customers.
Simon Goulding: Director of Compliance
Simon has been Director of Compliance at Southern Housing Group since 2006. As a member of Group Strategy Team he is responsible for the Group’s procurement, risk management and the internal audit programme. He is also responsible for business improvement through the CSI Team, Management Information, and Group insurances.
Simon started his career in housing as an Estate Officer for Hammersmith and Fulham Council in the mid 1980’s and then moved on to spend 15 years working with housing co-operatives. Before joining the Group he spent 5 years as a Regulation Manager at The Housing Corporation. He has also been a Board member of an association that specialised in housing people recovering from mental illness.
James Francis: Group Finance Director
As Group Finance Director, James has Executive responsibility for Finance, IT and pensions and is a Group Board Member.
For over 11 years in G15 housing organisations James has led through values, maintaining a clear focus on managing capacity, resources and change to create greater value for customers.
Operating in Board-level Finance Director roles since 2010, James has achieved simultaneous improvements in financial and social return by leading culture change, improvement programmes and has consistently made back office functions an efficient and integral part of the business.
Having led the Board to define its post-EU referendum risk appetite and investment aspiration, James is modernising the Group’s funding structure and leading the Group’s data and digital transformation to increase scalability and resilience.
Prior to working in the housing sector, James gained 8 years of experience in accountancy and corporate finance practice, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
James has Chaired both the school governing body and gymnastics club attended by his two daughters.
