Universal Credit is a new type of financial support for people of working age who are looking for work or on a low income. It's being introduced from April 2013 onwards. Read our Universal Credit quick guide to find out more.
What will change for me?
If you claim Universal Credit, you will receive the benefits you are entitled to in one monthly payment, directly to you. You will be responsible for paying your rent to us.

How will I claim Universal Credit?
Most people will be expected to make their Universal Credit claim online.
When will I be transferred to Universal Credit?
Universal Credit is being introduced gradually over the next few years. Most people won’t be affected to start with. The Government is aiming for everyone to be moved onto Universal Credit by the end of 2017.
