Residents' Panel
Do you like finding out about a variety of issues or enjoy discussing a range of topics? If you've got some free time and would be interested in being invited to attend the occasional consultation event, joining the Resident Panel might be for you.
We are always looking for residents who can spend a few hours attending our programmes of focus groups, in-depth interviews or workshop events.
We run a regular programme of events looking at a wide range of our services. The events are professionally run, in comfortable and accessible venues. We will cover your travel and childcare costs. As a Panel member, you can get involved in our focus group and workshop events, meet staff and other residents, and get a feel for how we are working to improve its service - and they are often good fun as well!
No regular commitment is necessary. If you are happy to attend, that is great. if you can't make it, it's not a problem.

Readers' Panel
If attending events or conferences isn't your thing, the Readers' Panel might be of interest. Around three or four times a year we ask our resident Readers to take a look at some key information from Southern Housing Group; they give us their views and let us know ways in which we can improve upon it. (The information might be a new leaflet or brochure, or a new policy or procedure under consideration). As a Reader, your feedback is used to reshape and improve this information.
The Readers Panel is a great way to get involved from the comfort of your own home, and to know your views are having an impact on the way we work. Don't worry about receiving masses of information from us - being a Reader should be interesting, informative enjoyable... and occasional!
