Community engagement develops projects that encourage engagement in the community for our service users.
We support our customers to work together, build ongoing and permanent relationships and increase their confidence through learning new skills and interacting with others. Our community engagement projects include:
Quarr Abbey gardening project
A customer-led community gardening project where customers plant and grow their own vegetables and sell produce in the local abbey shop.
Supported Independence Day
An annual celebration of our care and support services
A networking and involvement opportunity for people with dementia or Alzheimer’s and their carers.
A day of activities to promote awareness of autism
Giving Residents Opportunities and Wellbeing (GROW)
A support group for young people that promotes social inclusion and opportunities to take part in local activities.
Customers from across our services get involved in fundraising at this Isle of Wight-wide event that celebrates river and community life.
