Our charities

At Southern Housing Group we take great care to ensure that we make a positive impact upon the environment and the communities we operate in.

Each year we review ways in which we can make much needed contributions to these communities, together with our colleagues.

Last year, outside of our normal activities, we raised in excess of £38,000 for local charities.

Funds were raised through a number of activities like: playing tombola, wearing a crazy hair-do to work; taking part in the bake offs; turning up to table top sales; sponsoring members of staff taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge; playing hook a duck and crazy golf to raise funds at the staff conference and lots of pub quizzes.

In 2020 we will be focusing on supporting the following four charities:

Isle of Wight Foodbank – Helping Local People in Crisis

The foodbank relies on the support of their local community for food donations, volunteering and finances. We can help them to stop hunger on the Isle of Wight.

This local charity tackles and supports the homeless in Worthing, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex.

The Air Ambulance Service UK – covering Sussex, Kent and Surrey

Air Ambulance Service was chosen in memory of our dear colleagues Charlie and Jason. Both of our late colleagues were attended by the Air Ambulance Service at the sites of their road traffic accidents in November 2019.
